Need help with Bubble Notes? You're in the right place. Bubble Notes is a private, local-first notes app — your notes live on your device, not on our servers. Where are my notes stored? Are they backed up to the cloud?

Bubble Notes is local-first — every note, collection, and tag is stored privately on your device. We don't upload your notes to any server, and we can't see them. This keeps your data private and the app fast, even offline. Because notes live on-device, deleting the app removes your notes, so use your device's normal backup (such as an iCloud device backup) if you want an extra copy. Built-in sync across devices is planned for a future update.

Do I need an account or internet connection to use Bubble Notes?

No. There's no sign-up, no login, and no account required. Bubble Notes works fully offline — open it and start writing. We don't collect your email or personal info to use the app.

What are the in-app purchases? What's the Tip Jar?

Bubble Notes is free to use. If you'd like to support development, the Tip Jar lets you leave a one-time tip of your choosing — purely optional, with no features locked behind it. There's also an optional one-time purchase to remove the small in-app card prompts. All purchases are one-time (not subscriptions) and handled securely through the App Store.

How do I restore a purchase on a new device or after reinstalling?

Open Bubble Notes, go to the purchases or tip screen, and tap Restore Purchases. Your previous one-time purchase will be restored through your Apple ID at no extra charge.

How do collections, tags, and hidden notes work?

Collections group related notes; a note's first collection becomes its primary. Collection counts update as you add or remove notes.

Tags label notes across collections — filter the feed by one or more tags to narrow what you see.

Hidden notes stay out of your main feed until you toggle "show hidden" on, so you can keep sensitive or low-priority notes tucked away.

Can I export my notes?

Yes. Use the Export option to export notes — including a full-metadata option that preserves tags and timestamps — so you can keep a copy outside the app or share it.
